It looks like Season 5 of DBZ (the current season) will indeed be only 43 episodes long. Before FUNimation reported that Season 5 would only be 43 episodes long but Cartoon Network claimed that the actual number would be 96. Just about around a week ago CN changed their claims and now it seems that we will see only 43 episodes. We are predicting that you will see Buu though. In fact the season will probably end just after his introduction. This is going to be one hell of a cliffhanger.

This Thursday we saw the 209th episode of Z and we started with the 180th. About 29 episodes have passed after only skipping one episode in which there was a large building (resembled a skyscraper) on fire. That leaves about 14 more "new" episodes to be shown on CN.

Season six's air date is still unknown but it will most likely have 53 episodes in it.
